There’s a balance of talking and listening as a therapist. Check out the book recommendation tab on my Instagram profile🚨 I know that lengthy explanations about psychology at a time of crisis or pain will be of little use to my clients who desperately need to be seen, heard, and validated at their most vulnerable points. It’s impossible to get out chapters of critical information that could help clients shift their understanding and ease their pain in a 50 minute session together. Books are a great way to gain knowledge to bring break into the therapy room and incorporate into the healing process. Whether it’s to get expert advice, acquire more detailed tips and strategies to cope, gain a new way of viewing things, there are endless ways to harness the power of a good read. What inspiring books have you read lately?
